Problem Note 39176: After upgrading non-English installations from SAS® 9.2 (TS2M0) to SAS® 9.2 (TS2M2) the content of all the user home folders might appear to be lost
After upgrading non–English installations of SAS® 9.2 (TS2M0) to SAS® 9.2 (TS2M2), the content and configuration of all the user home folders might appear to be lost when accessed from one of the SAS® Business Intelligence Clients or SAS Solutions. In reality the content is not lost, but is no longer accessible to the users.
The User sub–folders, My Folders and Applications Data that were created under SAS 9.2 (TS2M0) are displayed with non–localized (i.e. English) names. SAS 9.2 (TS2M2) supports localization. During the upgrade from SAS 9.2 (TS2M0) to SAS 9.2 (TS2M2), new instances of My Folders and Applications Data are created with localized names, but these new folders don't contain the existing metadata content. For example, if the localized language was German, after upgrading the user would see two My Folders. One in English My Folder which contains all of the metadata content and German version of the folder Eigener Ordner which is empty.
Since SAS 9.2 (TS2M2) supports localization, the SAS Business Intelligence Clients and SAS Solutions will search for the metadata content in the localized version of these folders which will be empty. The non–localized named folders My Folders and Applications Data will still contain the metadata content. Since these non–localized named folders are not searched for, any metadata content which was created under these folders will not be located by the SAS Business Intelligence Client or SAS Solution that created them.
To circumvent the problem using this example, the user can manually COPY individual reports from My Folder to the new folder Eigener Ordner from within the SAS® Management Console. Or, if they are moving a report with a dependency such as a SAS® Information Map, they must use the EXPORT and IMPORT feature of the SAS Management Console to move the information from My Folder to the new folder Eigener Ordner.
